1. We profess The Apostle’s Creed:

I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.  Amen.

(from The United Methodist Hymnal 881)

2. We believe that faith is not just a cognitive assent to a certain set of beliefs, but, much more, it is a heartwarming experience and assurance of God’s love.  United Methodists seek to keep the balance between a disciplined life of holiness and a heartwarming experience of God’s love.

3. We believe that the Church is not a static institution but a dynamic movement of revival.  Methodism, from the outset, has been a movement of spiritual renewal and revival.  Our Methodist tradition is in continuity with the Kingdom of God movement Jesus Christ our Lord inaugurated.  United Methodists seek to restore spiritual vitality, with the prayer that a genuine renewal and revival of churches will spread across our community, our state, and our nation.
4. We believe that God’s grace is available to everyone.  United Methodists seek to embrace differences with God’s love and celebrate diversity among us while being united in faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

5. We believe that our passion for God is to be reflected in our compassion for our neighbors.  United Methodists believe that our personal salvation always involves our social participation in Christian mission for the transformation of the world.  Our revival movement is not only for individual believers but also for social renewal and transformation.  This is why United Methodists stand together against any form of injustice.

6. We believe that the mark of true Christians is to practice what we profess we believe in our daily lives.  United Methodists seek to embody what we hear from the word of God.  It refers to “faith working through love.”  United Methodists desire to become true Christians by seeking to do the will of God our heavenly Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

We stand on this great faith heritage.  We are proud to be United Methodists.  We would like to extend an invitation to you to become part of this exciting story of salvation with us!
